Arsenic in Rice

My mom told me that she saw a snippet on the news
that said there has been an increased amount of arsenic in
rice, including baby cereal, and that
it is recommended that we should cut down
our consumption of rice, and vary our diets a little more.

It was also said that if you have an infant eating
rice cereal, that you shouldn't give it to them more than once a week.

Our is now in the trash, and
Sour Cream has been enjoying the switch to oatmeal.

Great Book for Fun Games

Many of you know that I majored in Recreation while I was in school.  One of my favorite professors, Dr Mike Kinziger, taught the majority of those classes.  He is a very active, enthusiastic, and dynamic leader.  In most of his classes, we played games.  All sorts of games.  In fact, one semester, that's what we did two days a week, all class long - play games and talk about the dynamics of games.  And I just found out that he has published a book.  And what do you think it's about?  GAMES!!

That's right, he has a book out that includes over 100 games.  I haven't purchased it yet, but plan to as soon as we are settled into somewhere that we can get mail...which is by the end of February, if all goes as planned with this home purchase...but if you're interested, or know someone who is interested, please check out the website for his book.

Teachers, day care professionals, girls' camp leaders, scouts or achievement day leaders - anyone who would need some help with finding a great game will benefit from these.

Thanks, Friend

On Saturday, a friend let me crash her New Year's Day party.  It was a nice little lunch party, where she served black eyed peas and cornbread.  Apparently, it's a New Year's tradition in the South that is said to bring good luck.

And since Daddy couldn't come to the party, she sent home some luck for him to eat.  And apparently, it's starting to work a little....things are looking up!

Thank you Friend!!

Trying Hard...

So we are facing a difficult situation right now - I can't really go into it, and I apologize for bringing it up.  But we've made a decision about it, prayed about our decision, and feel confident that our decision is a good one.  The problem has now become rethinking and doubt.

We are trying hard to stay focused on the decision and that things really will work out, just like we feel they will, but when we stop looking at the big picture and think about the details that will inevitably follow and crop up unexpectedly, we start worrying and wondering if we really did make a good decision.

So here's to letting go of the doubts and holding on to our faith that we made a good choice.
