March & Early April

Surprise, surprise - I let myself get WAY behind...
I thought I'd do a quick update on how things have been going since my last post.
We are doing great.
We've had several big changes, and a lot of different stuff.

First of all, our big news is that Daddy got a job!
He's no longer making pizzas - his patience
and hard work have paid off, and he is loving his new position.
He is now a Jr QFD Expert - don't ask me what that is, because I don't know.
I know that he is using the Six Sigma Certificate that he
earned while in school.
And that he loves the job.
So all is well.

Although the job is in another city, and our lease here is not up yet,
so we have stayed behind for the time being.
If you want more detail than that, you have to contact me.

We have added to our family - my little sister is with us for a short stay,
and you can tell how excited Tooty is about it!
Sometimes I am brave and let the girls bathe together - but that only happens when there is another adult available to help me out.
As you can see, they get along great and love being together,
but Tooty isn't always as gentle as necessary.

Cupcake's first birthday is coming right up, but with Daddy out of town,
we decided to have a party early so he could be there.
We had a turtle party - it was a
Shell-a-bration
Cupcake had a great time.

She went back for the crumbs after the presents:
A few weeks ago, we woke Tooty up early from her nap.  When I walked in
her room, this is what I found:

I don't know what made her decide to use the dolly bed, but she was SOUND asleep!

Last but not lease, Cupcake's new favorite thing
(for the moment)
is Peek-a-Boo.
And I have to say, she is stinkin' cute!

Even with food on her face.

She Likes It - Hey Cupcake!

What happens when you offer your baby a whole gallon of milk?
 Bliss!
And a whole lotta wishful thinking.

Tooty and I tried making some bread the other day...
it didn't turn out very well, but we sure looked great!
She received some cooking accessories from one of her grandmas for Christmas,
and every time I don an apron, she wants to put hers on, too.

Daddy asked Tooty to give him a piggyback after he had been running around our apartment
with her on his back.
We have another maintenance issue at our apartment (surprise, surprise) - the tub quit working!
Luckily we have two, but last Sunday when Cupcake needed to get clean, I didn't want to put her in the tub in our room.  Into the sink she went.  It worked out okay, except I was soaked.
So this morning when I did it again, I made sure to turn her around so the water she was
throwing ended up on the wall instead of me.

Real Dreams

Cupcake is now 6 months old.  She is a really good sleeper, but still wakes up about once a night to eat.  For the past week, when I hear her crying, I get out of bed and go help her - either with a bottle or to replace her binky.  And then she cries again.  That's about the time I realize that I didn't get up a few minutes ago - I dreamed it.  It's really tough to remember what time I actually feed her (if it was 3 am or 530), since I imagine myself getting up and it's so darn real.

Needless to say, it feels like she wakes up about 4 times a night.  It's not my favorite.

Cupcake has been losing her hair.  I thought since it hadn't happened in the first 4 months that
we were good to go and she would keep those beautiful so-dark locks.
But, alas, it was not to be.  At least she still has the sticky-up hair.  And her mullet in the back.
But we still need to document that.

For those who may not know/remember how nice and dark and thick it was, here she is heading home from the hospital:

And as further proof, a pic from July (showing she still had it at 3 months):
